Project Spotlight: Whole-Home Lighting & Comfort Upgrades in Berlin, Maryland

Our team recently completed a large lighting and comfort upgrade for homeowners in Berlin, Maryland, helping them refresh and personalize their newly purchased home while improving everyday functionality.

The project began with updating lighting installation throughout the home. In the primary bathroom, we installed four new vanity lights, along with an additional vanity fixture in the downstairs powder room. These updates helped modernize the spaces while maintaining the homeowners’ preferred style and layout.

Next, we replaced outdated surface-mounted hallway lights with nine low-profile wafer lights, creating a cleaner, more modern look upstairs and downstairs. These new lights were paired with dimmer switches, giving the homeowners greater control over brightness and ambiance. Additional lighting improvements included new fixtures in the primary bedroom closets, toilet room, and laundry area.

For added comfort and flexibility, our electricians installed dimmer switches for the chandelier and kitchen recessed lighting, allowing the homeowners to easily adjust lighting levels for daily use or entertaining.

Ceiling fans were another major part of this project. We installed five customer-supplied ceiling fans—one in each upstairs bedroom, plus the living room and sunroom—helping improve airflow and comfort throughout the home.

To finish things off, we replaced three existing plastic floor outlets in the living room and sunroom with brushed nickel floor outlets, giving them a more durable and visually appealing finish that blends seamlessly with the space.

During our electrical evaluation, we also reviewed the home’s two 150-amp electrical panels located in the garage. While the panels had room for future expansion and proper AFCI/GFCI protection, we noted that the home did not yet have whole-home surge protection. Options were provided to help protect sensitive electronics and appliances moving forward.

The homeowners shared that they were extremely pleased with how smoothly the project was handled—from fast scheduling to completing a large scope of work in a single day.
